Cowrie shells were a form of African currency and are a symbol of wealth.
The carefully selected shells of the armlet are strung on a double chain indigo dyed cotton twine.
Both twine and shells form a perfect pattern.
Authentic with excellent patina of age and usage – Collected in Burkina Faso.
