Description
Very fine Moor silver necklace from Nioro-du-Sahel, a region having close borders with Mauritania.
The central pendant of cruciform shape is suspended from an elaborate chain of silver beads.
Entirely handmade, this piece is of superb workmanship, with techniques of wire work, granulation and applied motifs.
Two beads are gilt (gold wash), as its owner sought to increase its value by the addition of gold.
Excellent condition – Collected in Mali.
