Mauritanian silver Mizam bracelet from the Nioro du Sahel region of Mali, near the Mauritanian border.

A substantial traditional bracelet formed from a broad silver band and decorated with applied elements, including small spherical ornaments and finely worked coiled silver wire. It has a discreet hinge and is secured by a traditional key closure with a short chain.

The bracelet has developed a rich, naturally aged patina that enhances its character.
Mid-20th century, collected in Mali.
