Description

Strand Faturan amber beads and phenolic resin amber beads.
Produced in Europe for the African trade in the early to the mid 1900s.
Faturan amber has the distinct feature to oxidise to a deep cherry red.
The larger beads show the characteristic features, the long thin cracks due to the gradual shrinkage of the resin over time.
One cross-drilled bead is in the strand.
Collector quality strand – Acquired in Mali.
