Abstract Turka horse fetish.
The wire core of this old fetish is wrapped in twine and adorned with cowrie shells.
Largely animist, the Turka belief system is based on ancestor cults and bush spirit fetishes.
Superb crusty and oxidised patina – Collected in Burkina Faso.
