This richly patinated old Ethiopian Sidamo or Oromo silver marriage ring was worn either as a pendant or ring.
From the wear and beautiful patina, it is more likely that this piece was cherished and worn as a pendant.
Old Austrian Maria Teresa thaler silver coins from the 18th-19th century were commonly melted down as a source for Ethiopian jewelry.
Superb usage patina, 20th century – Acquired in Ethiopia.
