Description
Seven (7) tribal worn and authentic square leather leather grigris or amulets.
Possessing talismanic and magical powers, these amulets are collectively intended to protect their wearer from evil and to bring luck.
Enclosed in each of the amulets is an inscription with verses from the Qur’an (Koran) or a blend of magical herbs.
These protective amulets are worn hidden from the eyes of onlookers so as to preserve their mystical and magical powers.
Rich usage patina, mid to late 20th century – Collected in a village on the outskirts of Segou in Mali.
