Rare Tuareg silver amulet from the Aïr Mountains of Niger.
Finely engraved silver sheet with applied copper elements, a metal traditionally believed by the Tuareg to possess protective properties.
Complete with its original twisted leather neck cord and tassels.
As the leather backing of these amulets often deteriorates with use, it has been replaced on this example to preserve the piece.
