Old Tuareg silver amulet or tcherot pendant with fine repoussé work and chasing.
The interior may contain written verses from the Koran, old magic formulae, or even sand from the Sahara.
Believed by the Tuareg to possess powers to ward off evil and the evil eye and to bring luck to its wearer.
Rich usage patina, mid 20th century – Collected in Mali.
