An old Lobi or Dian brass amulet of two mating chameleons.
Chameleons in a mating position are intended to be worn as an amulet by both men and women to assure the birth of children.
Excellent patina on the suspension loop and side that rubbed against the wearer’s skin.
Early 20th century – Collected in Burkina Faso.
