Description
A collection of 19 ancient excavated Islamic period translucent blue glass beads.
Found in Mauritania and Mali, in the ancient caravan towns of Djenne, Timbuktu, Gao and Mopti, these beads are between 800 to 1200 years old.
This small strand contains six ancient eye beads and thirteen plain ancient beads.
Some beads are chipped, eyes are missing and there is some corrosion resulting from burial.
Nice iridescence on almost all beads – Collected in Mali.
Sizes range from 9 mm to 15 mm in diameter
