Description

Worn smooth with years of tribal wear, this old Gan bronze amulet bangle represents the meandering body of the serpent. A serpent head is the central motif. 
The Gan, neighbors of the Lobi, are an ethnic group living in the south-western region of Burkina Faso.
Highly superstitious, they consider the serpent to be a powerful protective amulet that will guard them from the many evil things found in the bush.
Cast using the lost wax method resulting in each piece being original and unique.
