Fine Tuareg tcherot amulet holder from the In’Gall region of Niger.
Superb engraving and applied silverwork decorate the surface.
The central shira consists of two superimposed levels forming a pyramid surmounted by a tapered knob.
Traditionally worn for protection, tcherot amulets contained sacred writings.
Made of silver sheet with copper tips and suspension loops.
