Description
Ancient Djenné beads from Mali.
The large white beads are amazonite, their colour altered by centuries of burial in the desert sands.
Two blue Aggrey beads stand out among a variety of ancient glass beads displaying rich iridescence.
Traded along the ancient caravan routes that crossed West Africa, these beads are approximately 1,000 years old.
