150.00 $

Description

Traditional cobalt blue European glass trade beads dating from the late 19th to the early 20th century.

Often referred to as Dogon donuts, these disk-shaped beads became closely associated with the Dogon people of Mali, who traditionally wore them as necklaces.
Although widely found in West Africa, they were most likely manufactured in Bavaria for the African trade.

Their deep cobalt blue color and pleasing variation in size make them an attractive strand for both collectors and jewelry designers.
