Description
Antique Venetian floral glass trade beads, also known as fiora or fiorate beads, dating from the mid to late 1800s and early 1900s.
These striking lampwork beads feature elaborate floral and trail decoration in pink, white and blue tones on a deep black glass matrix.
The elegant patterns and rich coloration made such beads highly prized in the African trade, where Venetian artisans produced some of the most decorative glass beads of the period.
Overall condition is good to very good with minor pitting and wear consistent with age and use.
Temporarily strung on nylon thread. Collected in Mali.
