Description
Strand combining 25 Venetian tire-shaped trade beads and four phenolic amber beads.
The Venetian glass beads date to the late 19th century and feature multicoloured trailing in red, yellow, and white on a black glass matrix.
Produced in Venice for the African trade, these distinctive beads are paired with four early 20th century phenolic resin amber beads of European manufacture.
The Venetian beads vary from good to slightly worn condition, while the phenolic beads display an attractive aged patina.
The strand is temporarily strung on nylon thread.
