Description
Antique mixed Venetian trade beads strand comprising an attractive assortment of handmade glass beads dating from the late 1800s to early 1900s.
The strand includes a varied combination of murine millefiori, striped cane, lampwork, and decorated Venetian beads, displaying a wide variety of colours, patterns, and forms. Several beads feature intricate layered glasswork characteristic of Venetian bead making for the African trade.
A large red bead with aventurine decoration is a notable feature of the strand, although it has two small chips visible in the photographs.
The remaining beads are in good to very good antique condition with age-related wear and patina.
