Description
A very attractive strand of ancient excavated glass beads is from Mali.
Commonly known as ‘Djenne beads’ these beads have been found “in situ” and were later strung on nylon thread.
The rich color range goes from creams to all shades of blues and greens and a rich iridescence resulting from burial covers most of the beads.
Size of beads range from: 3mm to 8mm in diameter and 3mm to 10mm in length and are approximately 1000 years old.
Collected in Mali.
