Description

A fine strand of ancient amazonite disk beads from the Gao region of Mali. Displaying a beautiful range of pale green, celadon and creamy white tones, the beads have developed a soft surface patina through centuries of age and handling.

The strand graduates towards a group of larger disk beads, the largest measuring 30 mm in diameter.
Its harmonious graduation and subtle colour variations are particularly appealing.

Amazonite beads of this quality are increasingly difficult to find, particularly in well-matched strands retaining their original character.
