Description
These three (3) tribal worn and authentic square leather leather grigris, amulets were acquired as such on a twisted leather strand, worn around the neck.
Possessing talismanic and magical powers, these amulets are collectively intended to protect their wearer from evil and to bring him or her luck.
Enclosed in each of the amulets is an inscription with verses from the Qur’an (Koran) or a blend of magical herbs.
Protective amulets are worn hidden from the eyes of onlookers so as to preserve their mystical and magical powers.
Nice usage patina, late 20th century – Collected in a village on the outskirts of Segou in Mali.
