Description

This is a magnificent Fulani silver amulet ring, lavishly adorned and highlighted with a copper sunburst motif.
Certainly commissioned by a wealthy Fulani woman to her discriminating tastes, the domed cavity of this the amulet is sealed by elaborate serrated prongs.
Its interior cavity encloses verses of the Koran intended to protect the wearer of this ring.
Excellent condition, late 20th century – Collected in Mali.
