Description

An impressive old Fulani silver ring with a heart shaped face. 
Inspired from European card games, the design is that of the traditional Fulani ring traditionally exchanged in marriage and friendship. 
The face displays a very rich usage patina with edges softened and rounded by wear and time. This ring was obviously greatly cherished by its wearer who apparently rarely took it off.
A damascened engraved pattern remains of some areas of the surface of the heart shaped face.
These old rings have become close to impossible to find nowadays… 
Excellent usage patina, mid 20th century and perhaps earlier-Collected in Mali.
