Description
A Bobo Fing zoomorphic friction oracle in the form of a three-horned zebu.
The middle horn slightly curves downwards and certainly has magical symbolism.
Diviners use friction oracles by rubbing a small piece of wood across the smooth surface, seeking answers to questions.
Depending on where the friction stops or changes direction, the diviner obtains his answers.
Rich developed patina.
Early to mid 20th century – Collected in Burkina Faso.
