About the BERBER (Amazigh)
The Berbers, or Amazigh, are the indigenous people of North Africa.
Their history dates back thousands of years—long before the Arab expansion and the rise of Islam in the 7th century CE.
Berber communities are spread across Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya.
In parts of Mauritania, Mali, Niger, and Burkina Faso, nomadic Berber groups are known as the Tuareg.
