Description
Ancient Djenne and medieval Aggrey glass beads in various shades of blue make up this strand.
Aggry or Aggri beads are unique for their dichroic qualities and occur on the trans-Saharan trade routes along the River Niger.
Chips on two beads – Collected in Mali.
**The strand also has a flat sided Czech bead and an early Venetian black cylinder bead.
* Dichroic glass : shows blue by reflected light and green/gold by transmitted light.
